Maliseet Trail

Fredericton Maliseet Trail Course Offering

Spring Courses 2008 at UNB College of Extended Learning

The Lost Maliseet Trail Course Details

The Maliseet Trail is a 220 km First Nations’ canoe route with some of Eastern North America’s most important portages. Today, the Trail’s portage routes are largely unmarked, unmapped or unknown.

Learn about the Lost Maliseet Trail from the perspective of a paddler who is one of only 12 people known to have crossed it in the last 80 years.

Hear about the historical uses of the trail by those who came before, including First Nations’ Peoples, John Gilles, and Revolutionary War Spies. Discuss the trail’s treasurers, secrets, portages, and special places. Visit the Maliseet Trail website to learn more.

Instructor: Dino Kubik
Date and duration: Mondays , April 28 – May 12 (3 weeks)
Time: 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Location: TBA

Course fee: $65 (+HST)
